The Ministry of Tourism reports that in January-September period the number of foreign visitors who came to our country by air increased by 18.8 percent over the same period last year.
This figure is also 6.4 percent higher compared to the same period in 2008.
The data collected show that tourism in our country is in strong recovery.
In the first nine months of the year, the airports in our country received 7 million 614 thousand 514 foreign tourists, against 407 000 451 6 million passengers who arrived last year.
In the indicated period, our country reached 612 000 282 4 million U.S. visitors, representing an increase of 15.0 percent compared to 2009 and 2.6 percent higher compared to 2008.
With regard to tourism from Canada, from January to September reached 1 million 75 000 623 Canadian, that is, an increase of 21.8 percent over last year and 31.9 in comparison with data recorded two years ago.
The third nation in importance to our country by the number of visitors is Spain, since in this period, 833 received 225 000 visitors, representing an increase of 45.6 percent compared to 2009 and 1.2 percent above that recorded in 2008.
According to the Integrated System for Operation Migration, the largest nation in Latin America for our country is Argentina, having sent 132 000 674 tourists, amount represents an increase of 44.1 percent compared with 2009 and 33.7 percent higher as reported two years ago.
The facility is giving the Federal Government in the procedures for obtaining visas allowed from January to September countries like Brazil almost doubled the number of tourists visiting our country.
During this period, Brazil received 84 000 959 walkers, 93.7 higher than the amount reported a year earlier and 45 percent higher than 2008.
In Colombia reached 53.3 percent more tourists than last year, while in Venezuela the number increased 53.3 percent.
