Cancun, December 8 - The Minister of Economy, Bruno Ferrari, announced investments of over six thousand 200 million dollars to Mexico after negotiations and meetings carried out under Green Solutions Forum which concluded Wednesday.


At the conclusion of the forum, which took place as part of the side events at COP-16, Ferrari Garcia de Alba said that confirmed these investments, mainly foreign, to be carried out in Mexico in the coming years.


This amount of investment will be allocated to projects ranging from building a manufacturing plant of insulators in Monterrey, Nuevo León, to the development of wind farms in La Ventosa, Oaxaca, raised.


The federal official explained that within this investment have been four billion dollars from the company Rubenius, originating in the United Arab Emirates and which President Felipe Calderon spoke and in due course.


Added to this are business agreements and to make investments for more than two thousand 200 million dollars that had been brewing before or that were generated under this alternative forum to the COP16, "and that is great news for Mexico and the world" .


"For Mexico because we continue to attract investment and generate jobs for Mexicans and these businesses because we step forward to become a green economy," he explained.


Bruno Ferrari abounded that the world is important "because such capital starts with a way to consolidate the country as a giant in the fight against climate change."


On the crusade at all levels to curb climate change, the federal official said the only way to drive change lies in the joint work of civil society, private enterprise and governments.


The head of the Ministry of Economy said that "there is no other way to defeat climate change, Green Solutions has a business focus precisely because we want to join the effort of the productive sector in this task."


Therefore urged to concrete solutions to building a strong economy and a sustainable planet, case in which governments should increase support for research and development to encourage innovation and promote sustainable production schemes.


He stressed that the Mexican authorities are determined to exploit their enormous potential to generate renewable energy and green building industry.


"We know that a country is competitive if and only if, it generates economic growth without sacrificing natural resources for future generations and future production capacity," he said.


For the Mexican official, a key factor, in addition to the incorporation of mechanisms, processes and standards for environmental management to go that will be that consumers change their habits to take advantage of natural resources responsibly.

Ultimately, he said, the demand for goods and services is the greatest power that citizens around the world have as consumers to push for change in the production schemes, a change that is oriented towards a green economy.
