Canadian miner Gold Corp will inject 400 million dollars this year dollars in Mexico to increase the holding in its 3 mines in the state of Zacatecas: Los Filos, Penasquito and Sauzal.
With these resources the company estimates a production of 780.000 ounces of gold and 28 million ounces of silver at the end of 2011.
This would mean that 25% mining could increase its gold production in Mexico this year.
Chuck Jeannes, Goldcorp's president, said that with that Mexico will contribute a quarter of gold production of the firm, which this year closed with a world production of 2.4 million ounces.
Today, Goldcorp has 6 projects in developing mines around the world: Cochenour, Eleonora in Canada, Pueblo Viejo in the Dominican Republic, Cerro Black in Argentina, Cerro Blanco in Guatemala and El Morro in Chile.
2 In addition to developing projects in Mexico and Eve Red Road, both located in Zacatecas, of which we do not know the production potential.
