Mexico, February 1 City .- The hotel chain plans to open 10 units this 2011, which represent an investment of more than 600 million pesos.




At a press conference, Director of Franchise Promotion City Hotel, Carlos Adams, said that unlike other segments of tourism, business traveler kept his flow despite outbreaks of insecurity in some cities, so that this factor does not inhibit their investment expectations.

"When it comes to leisure tourists, it simply changes the destination without problem, but a business traveler has to go where your business requires, and the cities identified as conflictual industrial maintain their pace.

"For example for us Ciudad Juarez is an excellent place, where he managed an average occupancy of 60 percent. And this year we are planning to open in Torreon. This shows that we continue to invest, and the north of the country remains very attractive, "said the manager.

Other cities where the hotels are open Minatitlan, Merida, Culiacan, Buenavista (Federal District), the third hotel in Puebla, Aguascalientes, Playa del Carmen and Ciudad del Carmen, all City Express brand. Also open its third hotel in Veracruz, branded City Junior.

With eight years in the market, the chain has a presence in 22 states and 38 cities. Closed 2010 with 50 hotels operating, of which 40 work under the name of City Express, seven are City and three City Junior Suites. The goal for the next three years is to reach 100 hotels in operation.

The units opened last year in Poza Rica City Express, Nogales and San Luis Potosi City and Junior in Ciudad Juárez and Guadalajara, with a total investment of 300 million pesos.

About their expectations on occupancy, Adams said that in 2010 the mean rate was 59 percent considering the new hotels, but without these, the average rises to 65 percent. This represented a 25.72 percent increase in occupancy and an increase from 27.6 in revenue. This year, the goal is to increase occupancy by four percentage points.
