Construction will be reactivated in 2011

The expected growth is 4.6% during 2011 for the construction industry stagnated for two years mainly by the effects of global economic recession which was emphasized in 2009.



BBVA Bancomer analysts added that housing will play a key role in the recovery of the sector, which by the private sector, the expansion will boost demand for office buildings, shopping centers and industrial plants, also for the part of public sector infrastructure spending will continue to contribute to growth.



An analysis of the financial institution, said that "the building can grow above the average of the economy during 2011", at a rate of 4.6%, where civil works will be the main source of momentum with growth of 5.2% while the building could register an increase of 4.2%.



Figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) indicate that in November 2010, the sector grew at a rate of 5.7%, the fourth consecutive month of a positive trend, so that end 2010 with strong signs of recovery.



Private consultants predict that during 2010 the industrial sector reported a meager 0.2% growth, while in 2009 decreased at a rate of 6.4%. Remember that between November 2008 and July 2010, were ligated 21 months continuous fall in its activity.



Bancomer analysts believe the sector has the strength to grow above the average for the economy as a whole during this and next year. (Ricardo Vázquez)
