InterContinental Hotels group Will Invest $500 Million Dollars In Mexico

InterContinental Hotel Group announced an investment in Mexico of 500 million dollars over the next three years which will result in the construction of 47 hotels, said Monday the president of Mexico.

Mexican President Felipe Calderón r ecibió at the official residence of Los Pinos to Jim Abrahamson, regional president of InterContinental Hotels Group , which released "an additional investment of 500 million dollars in Mexico over the next 3 years", said the office president in a statement.

The investment will be channeled to build 47 hotels , which will involve about 5,000 more rooms in the country, added the president.

Calderon also met with W. Lee Hammond, President of the American Association of Retired Persons, which has about 43 million retired members, a market that Mexico seeks to capture the momentum of conditions to meet the health tourism.

Tourism is one of the three largest sources of foreign exchange in Mexico, the main destination of Latin America, along with oil and remittances from migrants.
